Description

PC/ABS alloys are blends of polycarbonate (PC) and ABS polymers.

By varying the ratio of these two polymers during the compounding process, a family of alloys is produced suitable for a wide range of engineering applications. The addition of flame retardant additives and glass fibre reinforcement further extends the application areas for this versatile alloy.

Characteristics

PC/ABS alloys are characterized by their excellent impact resistance and heat resistance.

The moldability of PC/ABS alloys is excellent.

In addition, PC/ABS alloys have an isotropic shrinkage characteristic, meaning that the mould shrinkage is uniform in all directions, which gives low warpage, dimensionally stable parts.

Applications

Enclosures for business equipment and electrical appliances, such as housings for notebook computers and cellular phones.
Chassis for business equipment and electrical appliances.
Mechanical parts for computer and business equipment such as fans and carriages.
Electronic components, including terminal blocks, connectors, switches and bobbins.
Camera, optical instruments and other precision parts.
