Description

SAN is a copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile. This polymer is transparent.

Characteristics

SAN has excellent transparency, coupled with mechanical strength and chemical resistance. SAN is like another member of the styrenic family, crystalline polystyrene. However, SAN is tougher, has more chemical resistance and better UV light resistance than crystalline polystyrene.

Applications

SAN general purpose grades are used in food applications, such as containers, cold water tube and lunch boxes.

Automotive, VTR, electrical and electronic parts.

The glass fibre reinforced grades are used in structural parts, such as propeller fan, chassis and automotive components.
